DescriptionThe Kitabu College is located in the wealthy area of Maputo, capital of the country. It is a private institute and is in very good condition. The school has offices, classrooms, teachers’ rooms, computers room, laboratories, sporting fields and other facilities that render it into a high-level educational institution. It is one of the first private institutions of education in Mozambique and began operating in 1992. It is a private school where grades 6 – 7 of Primary Education are taught and grades 8 – 12 of secondary education. The institute also prepares the students for higher education. The school has 545 students (277 girls and 268 boys), most of them are residents in the city of Maputo. Their parents are often working in education; they are officials from various other state institutions, NGOs and private companies. The College follows the national curriculum and offers some extra-curricular subjects meant to teach the students better life-skills. The total number of teachers is 75, they all have teacher training.
